Harriniva Hotels&Safaris is a family company operating in North-West Lapland, near Pallas-Ylläs National park. With over 40 years of experience Harriniva and the family Pietikäinen are dedicated to offer the Best In Wilderness services and experiences. Our wilderness wellbeing concept has been created to offer a real nature experience in the spirit of Finnish relaxing sauna culture.

Maarit Nevanperä is an experiencced ashtanga yoga teacher who started practicing in 1997 and has been teaching since 2000. She has studied with several gurus also in India. Currently she works in Helsinki Ashtanga Yoga School and with various companies, dance schools and other yoga shalas around Finland and abroad. / FB joogamaarityoga

The program is operated if the minimum number of participants is met. Pre-registration ends 28.2, after which the implementation of the program will be confirmed.

PROGRAM 12.-15.4.2018

Thursday 12.4.
Arrival at Harriniva, Muonio. Check-in to cozy wilderness style hotel rooms. Get together with your teacher and the group and receive information about the program for the coming weekend.
6pm Light restorative exercise and deep relaxation at the end of the day, that will orient you for the coming days.
8pm Dinner in the Harriniva restaurant.

Friday 13.4.
We will start the day with a 2hour yoga practice, that includes classical yoga breathiing techniques, a varied yoga posture series and a final relaxation. The morning yoga will awaken your body for the day. Delicious buffet breakfast in the Harriniva restaurant. After breakfast we will head outdoors. Transfer to the Pallas-Ylläs National park (approximately 30minutes), where we will snowshoe up to the top of Pallas fell (approximately 1 hour). Meditative breathing exercise at the top of the fell, admiring the beautiful scenery and breathing in the cleanest air in the world. Simple yoga series outdoor after coming down from the top, which will stretch and restore your muscles. Picnic lunch enjoyed enroute. Transfer back to Harriniva. Evening relaxation and mindfulness exercise in the hotel. Delicious Lappish dinner in the Harriniva restaurant. Overnight in Harriniva.

Saturday 14.4.
Start the day with a dynamic ashtanga yoga practice, which will be modified to the needs of the group and finishing with a final relaxation. Breakfast 9:30. After breakfast we will head outdoors. Meet our 400 firendly huskies in Harriniva Arctic Sleddog Center. After receiving driving instructions, we will start the dogsled tour into the wilderness! We will drive a 17km safari with 2persons / sled, where one person drives and one sits in the sled, with a chance to change drivers halfway. Dogsledding is one of the most exhilarating ways to go in to the Lappish nature, admiring the forests and fells. Return to Harriniva, where we will practice meditative breathing outdoors, on the shore of the frozen Muonio river. Next there will be a guided series of light movements that warm up the body and a breathing exercise which develops and increases your breathing capacity. The exercise acts as an easy meditation training for those who wish to improve their concentration. Lunch in Harriniva restaurant. Transfer to Jeris (approximately 20 minutes). The Arctic Spa, located by the frozen Jerisjärvi lake offers pure relaxation with in 2 relaxing pools wih a stunning view. A sauna session, and a dip in the frozen lake will enhance the circulation and relax the muscles. Transfer back to Harriniva and dinner in the restaurant. Overnight in Harriniva.

Sunday 15.4. 
Dynamic morning ashtanga yoga, with relaxation in the end. Breakfast 9:30.  Get together for the end of the cource.
