In Torassieppi Winter Village you have the chance to stay in a traditional snow igloo. Igloos have been used in the Northern countries for accommodation during centuries. You can spend memorable night either alone or with someone. The temperature outside can drop down to minus thirty degrees, but the temperature inside the igloo stays moderate. Soft and warm reindeer skins, thick sleeping bags and hot juice ensures a warm and comfortable night.
A night in Aurora Dome is a unique way to experience the nature. The comfortable and warm Dome is a perfect place to enjoy the magical winter scenery of lake Torassieppi lit by the northern lights. Mod cons e.g. toilet, shower and sauna are within easy walking distance.
Accommodation in "Heinälato" or "Aitta"
Now you can experience the traditional way to spend a night. At the old farms they had an “aitta” to storage the food with a loft as a sleeping place for the workers at the farm and a “heinälato”, hay barn, to storage the hay for the winter and used by travellers passing by in need of free sleeping place.
Accommodation in "Laavu" or "Kota"
In earlier days reindeer herders, hunters and fishermen used a “laavu” or a “kota” to spend their night when being away from home. Why wouldn't you try the same? A laavu is a traditional windshelter with a fire place in the front to keep you warm and a kota is a Lappish teepee with a fire place in the middle.
Wilderness cabins provides you fabulous environment to spend a night and time at the nature. We heve many wilderness cabins around Fell Lapland, and some of them we rent for private use.
