5-day Sportive Snowmobile Safari on the Arctic Trail 

Come and enjoy the fascinating beauty of the Lapp nature on our snowmobile safari! Driving the snowmobile is an excellent way of getting to know the wintery wilds of Lapland. The routes are planned with environmental considerations in mind. The participants are provided with full equipment and safety regulations are always given before starting the engines.

Day 1

Arrival to the Kittilä airport and a transfer to Muonio - HARRINIVA Holiday Centre (approx. 1 hour). Information about the safari programme. Dinner and accommodation in hotel rooms for 3-4 persons in Harriniva or in cottages for 4-6 persons close to Harriniva with sauna, shower and WC.

Day 2

After breakfast the delivery of the safari equipment (warm overalls, boots, socks, mittens, hat, gloves, helmet). Introduction to the snowmobiles and how to drive them. Safety rules and the start of the safari. Today we will drive approx. 120 km. During the safari we will stop for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon arrival to Galdotieva Fell Centre, close to the Norwegian border. Dinner. Overnight in cosy cabins for 4-6 persons with sauna, shower and WC.

Day 3

After breakfast the safari continues. Today we will drive to Kilpisjärvi. The driving distance will be approx. 150 km. We will drive in treeless fell landscape (low mountains). Picnic lunch along the way in a Lapp village. Sauna, dinner and overnight in the holiday village Kilpisjärvi in chalets for 4-6 persons with sauna, shower and WC.

Day 4

After breakfast we will drive up the highest mountain of Finland  (Halti, 1320 m), the driving distance will be approx. 120 km. We will have a picnic lunch in a mountain cabin. In the afternoon we will drive to the Swedish mountain area and visit the border monument of 3 countries – Sweden, Norway and Finland. Sauna, dinner and overnight in the holiday village in Kilpisjärvi.

Day 5

Today we drive from Kilpisjärvi back to Galdotieva, approx. 150 km. We will have a picnic lunch along the way. Sauna, dinner and overnight in Galdotieva.

Day 6

After breakfast we will head back to Muonio. The driving distance will be approx. 120 km. We will have a picnic lunch along the way. In Harriniva we will have sauna and a farewell dinner with Lapp specialities. Accommodation in hotel rooms for 3-4 persons in Harriniva or in cottages for 4-6 persons close to Harriniva with sauna, shower and WC.

Day 7

Breakfast and a transfer to the Kittilä airport.
